In accordance with section 6 (4) of the Act, a civil contractor is a business entity that constructs roads, bridges, docks, utility infrastructure, and other similar construction projects.


An engineer who is contracted by GDOT to work on the civil work on a particular project is referred to as a civil contractor. As part of the Construction Documents, you will find all the shop drawings, working drawings, fabrication plans, descriptions of materials and hardware, specifications, construction quality control reports, construction quality assurance reports, and samples that are necessary or desirable to construct the Project, as well as the utility adjustments that will be included in the Work, in accordance with the RFP.
